| TAIZE GROUP
|
TAIZE GROUP
Taize is a Monastic community in the South East of France, founded in 1940, by Brother Roger.
Thousands of Christian people from all over the world, gather at Taize every week to pray, to search, sing and to find refreshment and renewal. A Taize service is marked by its depth and simplicity.
The service lasts for approximately 1 hour and consists mainly of singing with periods of silent meditation, prayers of intercession and with Readings from the Psalms and Gospels. The songs are not meant to be sung as Hymns, but rather as a series of Prayers.
At a recent Taize service held at our Church, people remarked about the feeling of Peace experienced, during and after the Service. Tea and biscuits will be available at 6.45pm and the Service will begin at 7.30pm at Holy Family Church. We are hoping to hold regular Taize Services in the near future.
Contact Margaret Heywood 55375779.
